At Makeforme ("we", "us", "our"), your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Makeforme platform at makeforme.in, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have about your data.

By creating an account or using Makeforme, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy. This policy is compliant with India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023.

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Account information — your name, email address, and phone number, provided when you sign up.
• Store & product data — your store name, handle, bio, product listings, photos, and prices that you voluntarily add to the platform.
• Transaction data — order details including items ordered, prices, delivery address, and order status.
• Device & usage data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on the platform, collected automatically via analytics tools.

We do not collect payment card details. Payments are handled directly by our third-party payment processors who are solely responsible for securing that data.

We use the data we collect to:

• Create and manage your account and store.
• Process and display orders between buyers and creators.
• Send you order notifications, account alerts, and platform updates.
• Improve our product, fix issues, and develop new features.
• Respond to your support requests and enquiries.
• Ensure the security of the platform and prevent fraud or abuse.

We will not use your data for any purposes beyond those listed above without obtaining your explicit consent.

We share your personal data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Between buyers and sellers: When an order is placed, we share the buyer's name, delivery address, and phone number with the relevant creator so they can fulfil the order. The creator's name and store handle are visible to buyers.
• Firebase (Google): We use Firebase for authentication, database storage, and analytics. Your data is stored on Firebase's servers in accordance with Google's data processing terms.
• Payment processors: We integrate with third-party payment gateways to facilitate transactions. They receive order amount and transaction metadata. Please refer to their privacy policies for further details.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.

Makeforme uses Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with our platform. This involves the use of cookies and similar tracking technologies. Data collected is anonymised and aggregated where possible and is used solely to improve the platform experience.

You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though doing so may affect some functionality of the platform.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. All data is transmitted over HTTPS, and stored data is secured using Firebase's industry-standard security controls.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data from our active systems within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance obligations (such as transaction records).

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right to access — Request a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to correction — Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Right to erasure — Request deletion of your personal data, subject to any legal retention obligations.
• Right to grievance redressal — Raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (see Section 11).

Makeforme is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that a user under 18 has created an account, we will promptly delete their data and terminate their account. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email. Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
